More about YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER
I'm 35, married my wife in 2022 and I live in the inner-West of Adelaide in South Australia in a jungle of plants because I can’t say no to more plants. My hair is red, my eyes are green and I bring kindness and warmth wherever I go. I’ve been affectionately called Mary Poppins, I’m known for being kind, creative and I’m passionate about my job.
Wedding Photography is where my heart is and I am very lucky to have created a business that is in its 12th year going on 13 in 2024. Pretty wild! I love telling the stories of every love, abundant, joyful, love. My wife and I have opened an Elopement Chapel, if eloping is more your style - check it out Faithwood Chapel.
I never sought out photography as a career, it was always a hobby and I was steering towards academia, Marketing then Psychological science. I've always been creative though, arty, always painting, crafting, cooking and creating. In 2010, I started taking photography more seriously while I was studying Psychological Science when my 70 year old Pop sat my down and said “You’re crazy if you don’t quit University, don’t worry about what your parents will say. You’ve found something you love, that you’re good at and that people will pay you to do, most people wait their whole lives to find that.” You can’t deny a 70 year old’s wisdom - and he was right. My life and heart are full. Photographing love, chasing light, telling love stories, watching families grow. I’m very lucky.
Using all I’ve learned over the years in the industry, I really honed in on what has become my signature style today, a candid, timeless look with a focus on love, connection, details, vulnerability and joy with a hint of romance. I still lend myself to the film days and embrace the candid, blur and grain in my work. I believe because of my upbringing I’m able to walk into any room and situation and gently influence it into a lighter, warmer space to encourage connection, inspire vulnerability and develop comfort. That’s why at the end of every wedding and every sessions I hear “That was so easy! That was fun!”.
